Okay, dedication over, I have uploaded two more essays to the Journal. Both these appeared in the Lughnsadh issue of the Druid’s Arch. You can find them here:

I’m studying hard now, reading the Sons of Mil and trying to finish the Dresig manual up, to move on to the next one. Have some meditations to do and a few more essays to write. Hopefully I’ll get them up on the site when I finish.

Till then, take care!

Well, I did my Dedication this weekend. Had to make a few substitutions to the recommended proceedures, mainly due to lack of materials, but other than that, it went off well.

Sorry, I’m under oath not to post it, or you know I would. Suffice to say that everything that was supposed to be achieved during a ritual was, and I made my oaths just like I should.

On another note, I finished Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix. Loved it. Too long, but I loved it.

Well, I have sent in my statement of Dedication, and have the dedication rite. Unfortunately it has some required elements that I don’t have and can’t afford right now, so I’ll have to do the best I can.

Same problems with “where” to do this. Wish I knew some wilderness around here.

I would post it and my reactions and what happened here, but this is oathbound material and I can’t. I’ll share what I can share though.

Okay, let’s see….

Got the new manual. Working my way through that and the resulting myths that I have to study that go along with it. Finished two articles for The Druid’s Arch, one on Bards (to probably be published first) and one on Tailtu (to be published near Lughnasdh). Both are in hands of DarkOwl, therefore, out of mine.

Over the weekend I got three candles at Dollar General. They cost a buck each. One Green, one Blue and one White. They are about 10 inches tall and about an inch and a half across. I got them to do rituals inside if the impulse comes over me for one reason or another. I have two small globe-style oil lamps that I have used for years in my Wiccan Rituals that I can use for the Deity Lights, one with green oil and one with brown oil.

For those of you who have not read back far enough, the candles represent the Three Realms of Land, Sea and Sky. The Land is the Green Candle, the Sea is the Blue Candle and the Sky is the White candle. Each of these get invoked during the ODU rituals, representing a specific force of Spirit or Life. The Sea is the pre-birth and emotions, the Land is the time we are alive and the intellect, the Sky is the after-life and the Superego. There are a lot of other associations that go along with these, but that’s enough for now.

A thought just occurred to me: I wonder if the Ogham runes could be associated with the three realms? I know there are 5 sets of 5, so that doesn’t evenly fit into a paradigm of threes, but I wonder if it’s possible if you remove things like the vowels to attribute certain Ogham with each Realm. Have to take a look at that.

Anyhow, the Deities invoked change from rite to rite, depending on what is going on, so there is no specific color associated with the God and Goddess as in Wicca. There are colors associated with specific deities, such as this color for Dagda, that color for the Morrigon, but not for the generic Lord and Lady.

The colored oil I got a long time ago at Wicks and Sticks in the mall. Brown oil is hard to come by, but they will dye it to your order for free. I thought that was nice of them.

Sorry I have not been posting things here like I should, but I have been really busy with the mundane side of life.

See, work just went from Outlook to Lotus Notes. Stop groaning, I didn’t want them to do this, but it was not my decision, and logic played no part in this. It sucks but I can’t help it.

Anyhow, with the Birch 2 Manual (Birch is the “Student Grade” in the ODU, and there are three levels, Abhar, which I just graduated from, Driseg, which I am in now, and Fochlac which is the final level in this grade. Birch 2 is the student mid-level, or Driseg.) and finding the myths I have to study, I have been busy for now.

So, things are interesting, and I’m going to be busy for a while. Sorry about that.

I’m also writing some articles. One on a New Definition of a Bard, which once published will be posted here, and one for “the use of names” in magick. Probably use that one for the High magick class. Don’t know yet though. Plus I still have to write lesson 14 for them, the unit on Ritual.

Anyhow, just a quick heads-up for you all.

And if you have not seen this, please go read this article: How to Keep Your Coven From Being Destroyed It’s really good.
