Review by Obsidian, 2003 October 06: Windows 98, IE 6.0, 1024×768, cable modem.

Layout: 6

The layout is rather clean and easy to follow. I'm not too fond of the entire site's text field being centered, as it doesn't look professional. I'm also marking down a point for being on GeoShitties.

Navigability: 9

The site is pretty easy to navigate. There is a site index on the main page of the site, and every page (save for the guestbook) is circularly linked.

Colour Scheme: 6

I didn't mark this down too heavily as this site was last updated two years ago, but the site is optimised for 800×600 resolution. The background image repeats itself; the dark leaves and the black text render the rightmost fifth of the paragraphs completely illegible. I'm also not too fond of all white backgrounds, as they hurt my eyes, but I'm only taking off one point for this.

Semantics: 8

I came across quite a few grammatical errors, but the author's spelling is keen.

Originality: 6

This site isn't necessarily anything too special; it's just another GeoShitties "Wicca™ 101" page by another lesbian environmentalist Wiccan. That being said, the author went out of her way to type this up herself. Now, my problem with her site rests in the actual content itself (being that it's quite fluffy). The presentation actually impresses me, considering it was done by a (then) 17 year old girl on GeoShitties.

Delivery: 6

She's passionate, but not passionate enough. She's trying too hard to be nice and conduct herself properly (can't risk harming anybody with your words, damn that Rule of Three!) while still keeping the "I'm my own girl, I do what I want" attitude, and it didn't really gel properly. Not that it could anyway...

Knowledgeability: 5

This is where I start docking serious points. I mean, I respect the fact that she's earnestly trying, but she's just swallowed too much of Llewellyn's crap and is regurgitating the same gizzard-blended garbage all over again when she attempts to teach this amalgamation of Wicca™ and bullshit to beginners. She hasn't done enough thinking for herself (at least as far as the site may indicate) and therefore isn't quite as knowledgeable as one with her presentation skills would hope.

Style: 6

She seems like she'd be really cool in person, but she's just too fluffy.

Fluff Factor: 3

While she doesn't get into the whole "WICCANS WERE BURNED IN SALEM" drivel, and she has done her homework, she's done her homework in all the wrong places. I don't blame her for her site's fluffiness, since her attempt does seem earnest, but I gotta call 'em as I see 'em, and this site's fluffy as fuck.

Cool Factor: 4

Nothing special, but nothing that really blows the blue goat's ass either.

FINAL RATING: 59% or

I initially received this as a nomination for my Stupid Site Awards. It's not a stupid site necessarily, and it's not hideous nor hard to navigate nor ridden in bulky flash or images or anything: it's just fluffy. And it's fluffy in moderation. Seriously, though, the author needs to wake the fuck up and smell the roses: Wicca ain't all happy Lord and Lady spiral dance faeries and Rule of Three. I wish her well, and I hope this site is deserving of a better rating in the future.
