Layout: 9

The site is lain out in a very presentable fashion. The three-frame set is very common, even among professionally designed sites. The only thing that detracts from this score is the rather heavy load-time; I am unsure as to whether it's from XML or from Java classes, but the site does take a while to load up (and hangs up the browser for a few seconds in the meanwhile). Believe me, though, it's worth the wait.

Navigability: 10

With a plain, easy to read navigation tree, a comprehensive site map, and a lifeline at the bottom of every page in case you get lost, this site is very simple to navigate. You literally cannot get lost in this site unless you're a complete and utter imbecile.

Colour Scheme: 10

Very pleasant colour choices, very simple and tasteful background, and very easy to read. Certainly not going to cause any undue eye strains, that's for sure.

Semantics: 7

Daven has an excellent vocabulary; however, there are a few misspellings. It can be a little distracting to the extraordinarily fussy, but it's not so chronic as to actually interfere with the readability of the site's content.

Originality: 10

Before I saw the Journal, I saw nothing on the entire fucking INTERNET like it - pagan or not. I have never seen a personal (read: non-commercial) site this comprehensive with that much original matieral, EVER! This site is a treasure trove of (both informational and opinion) material to the point where you literally cannot finish this site in a day. I've been visiting the Journal for a year regularly now and only now am I even close to finishing!

Delivery: 10

Daven's presentation is usually quite civil, with a gentle demeanour and a sophisticated vocabulary. However, he's not afraid to speak his mind how it ought to be spoken (yay Capricorns!) and he is not afraid to use a cuss word or ten when it's duly necessary.

Knowledgeability: 10

Hands down, this man knows his shit. His work is almost entirely original, and that which is NOT borne of his own cerebrum is properly cited. I have yet to find one iota of plagiarised material here, and I actually have looked...lol.

Style: 10

Like I said, this man knows his shit and his delivery is very keen. There's enough of a variety here to keep you interested and coming back for weeks. The man's got game, 'nuff said.

Fluff Factor: 10

This site is entirely unfluffy, and it is such without being anti-fluffy. Shit, even the Mirror didn't pull that off. In fact, Daven is almost singlehandedly responsible for helping me to realise my fluff and was instrumental in bringing me back to my senses.

Cool Factor: 10

Like I said, there's enough stuff here to keep you interested for hours. And I mean hours upon hours upon hours. This site is fucking cool, and there is nobody who can SERIOUSLY argue otherwise.

FINAL RATING: 96% or

This site gets five stars, no doubt about it. There's no contest: this is my favourite site on the Internet today (aside from the Mirror, naturally), and I visit it almost every day and read something I've never read before. Even after a year's time, this site is still a gold mine of information I have yet to peruse, and I'm starting to wonder if I'll ever actually finish reading it. Mad props, Daven, for a most excellent site. If I had a cool award, you'd fucking get it, I promise you.

Cheers,
Obsidian.
