Ever get that song stuck in your head that just won’t go away? There is a psychological term for it, and I recently found out that it’s not a common problem for most people.
My wife and I both have this “problem”. It’s interesting since there are times when it will get stuck in “play” mode and only one song will be on the turntable, and it will play over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over.
Sometimes amusing, sometimes irritating, it is the soundtrack of our lives.
The current song, “Dance With Me”, started last night while making love to my wife. It’s so appropriate and it just fits.
Dance With Me
By OrleansDance with me, I want to be your partner
Can’t you see the music is just starting?
Night is falling, and I am calling
Dance with meFantasy could never be so giving
I feel free, I hope that you are willing
Pick your feet up, and kick your feet up
Dance with meLet it lift you off the ground
Starry eyes, and love is all around
I can take you where you want to goDance with me, I want to be your partner
Can’t you see the music is just starting?
Night is falling, and I am calling
Dance with me[ break ]
Let it lift you off the ground
Starry eyes, and love is all around
I can take you where you want to goFantasy could never be so giving
I feel free, I hope that you are willing
To pick your feet up, kick your feet up
And dance with meDance with me, I want to be your partner
Can’t you see the music is just starting?
Night is falling, and I am calling
Dance with meDance with me
Dance with me
Take that out of the obvious connotation, and put it into the connotation of making love as a spiritual act.
Works, don’t it? And it’s beautiful.
< sigh >
Love it.
