Daven's Thoughts

Written by me over the years, I have copies of these on my computer and that has been following me around for a long time. As such, I post them here, rather than in the library documents where they have resided until now.

Most of these have appeared in one form or another in many different places, mainly some pagan magazines in Texas, other websites, and my personal book of shadows. I hope they help you as well.

Pagan Basics: A Teaching Thread

This is the lessons that I presented to Ancient Sites in Iona. I know I have mentioned this place multiple times, and in every document you will get here there will be links to the homes of the participants.

One thing I MUST stress is this: This whole class is a starting point for study. I do not have the answers, nor do I try to present that I do. All I did was try to present my learning's in a "tradition neutral" way to others who were interested in learning more about pagan religions. None of this information in here is designed to be the be-all, end-all or even "This is the way we do it in MY tradition". What it is supposed to do is to give a basic starting point to the study. That's it.

This is also not the entire thread in order. No, what I have done here is to take the subject and the responses on that subject and compress them into one document. So that means that some of these take longer to load than others, mainly because of the length.

There are also diagrams here and some pictures, which are not on this website, but on another one that I posted these documents on in the first place. Hopefully they will all load up in a timely fashion. I also cut out the posts like "Okay, I'm going to post soon" and "Hi! I'm so-and-so and I just joined the class..." and so on. So the only things here are what the discussion is on.

Throughout these documents, I try to give good information and references for you to use, but even if I don't one of the greatest references and wonderful networking resource is The Witches' Voice out of Clearwater Florida. It's a non-profit organization that exists to let us be heard on the Internet. Like that's a problem. They have a good section of pages on basics of Wicca, how to deal with mundanes, and so on. Take a look, I highly recommend them.
